Enjoy the New Security Standards — Here’s What You Need to Know
At Webserv, we’ve been committed to security since day one of our WordPress hosting journey back in 2014. In today’s landscape, online threats are evolving faster than ever, making robust security essential — not optional. That’s why we’re excited to roll out a new layer of protection for all our hosting clients.
What’s Changing?
We’re introducing mandatory Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on all WordPress websites that use admin user accounts. In some cases, we may enforce 2FA for all user profiles, including customer accounts — depending on the nature of the site.
What Does This Mean for You?
Next time you log in, you may be prompted to set up an Authenticator App. In some cases, you might see a message saying you’re temporarily blocked — this is part of our security layer and nothing to worry about.
Action Step: Make sure you have an Authenticator App installed on your phone. Popular options include:
- Google Authenticator
- Bitwarden
- Microsoft Authenticator
- LastPass Authenticator
Both iPhone and Android users can find these apps in their respective app stores.
What If You Can’t Log In?
No problem! Just reach out to our support team: 07 3180 3227 or [email protected]. We’ll quickly unblock you and guide you through setting up 2FA.
Why Now?
Many of our clients use a mix of internal staff and external suppliers to manage website content. Over time, old or unused accounts can become major security risks. By requiring 2FA, we reduce the potential for unwanted access and create a much safer environment for your website and your users.
What Else Is Included in Your Hosting Plan?
With our Managed WordPress Hosting, you now benefit from:
- Outbound Spam Monitoring via MailChannels – We prevent your site from sending spam, protecting your domain’s reputation.
- Personal Admin Login Monitoring – We alert you about suspicious login activity.
- Mandatory 2FA for WordPress Admins – Now standard for all admin users.
- Imunify360 Security Suite – Offers layered protection including antivirus, WAF, intrusion detection, malware scanning, and patch management.
- PatchStack & Wordfence Monitoring – We keep an eye on plugin vulnerabilities and patch them when needed. If we can’t patch automatically, we’ll contact you.
As always, our doors are open for any questions or discussion about your website.
