Technical Skills and Approach
We specialise in Word press which is one of the world’s largest CMS for websites. WordPress have a whole world of plugins and features plus integrations built around its infrastructure. Webserv use part of this to develop your website. E.g. we use flexbox containers when building your website. Flexbox is a great technology which allow us to design new and modern sites with granular control. Our designers use design tool such as Figma and Adobe suite which are some of the best in the industry.
We approach responsive design by focusing on three screen sizes, desktop, tablet and mobile phone. Although we start with desktop mode, our main priority finish with the mobile device because this is how most people will access your website. Throughout design and development we decide to show or hide certain features depending on the screen size.
WordPress website security relies on two things. First the developer need to update their code and versions of the plugin or theme. Secondly, your website guy need to make sure they are keeping the plugins updated otherwise you are jeopardising your website security. Project Management and Communication
Websites can take anything from two weeks to six months to build. The timeframe depends greatly on the size of the website, the functions and also the time of the year. E.g. many of use wind down during Christmas and end of the year. We need to make sure the feelings and impressions represent your branding and the user experience and flow is working to convert. We do this by testing and adjusting navigation until its well working.
Yes! Integrating features such forms are now standard integrations. Forms should be close to Spam free as well as styled nicely. E-commerce setups is also part of our web development. A shopping cart cand be set up in many ways and our team is here to help you get the right shop for your website.
We always approach our development with SEO in mind. This means we make sure your URL and page structure are sound so that search engines can read and understand them better. For SEO purpose we make sure every image is small and in right format for browsers to handle. Important part for SEO is to keep containers, rows and columns to a minimum and we achieve that by using flexbox.
SEO with a deeper approach than this can be achieved with any of our SEO packages.
Content and Maintenance
Yes you are able to access the website whenever you want to make changes and updates. However, our experience have taught us that unless you have an inhouse website guy, you are better off starting a ticket with us so that we can execute your changes in a very short time. Your website is a professional site which is not designed for DIY type of people.
We are happy to create training packages for you and your staff. During the training session we can pick some of thing content and management tasks you want to master. Ask us about any particular topics you can benefit from.
We include support and ongoing maintenance for all our hosting clients. With your website hosting comes all updates and security for your website. We have additional hosting features that are available with your WordPress hosting. And for our larger clients we have service level agreements (SLA).
For new clients who don’t have an existing website, we recommend either writing the content yourself or using an AI such as chat GDP. We as designers will use your content and can add some headings and call to action text to help your website to look better. For clients who already have a website and we’re rebuilding or redesigning, we will use all your existing content with your images. We always recommend having a professional photographer or using high quality images for best impression.
Pricing and Contracts
Our pricing for website design and development are based on the resources needed to get the result that you’re looking for. For example a small websites with three to five pages will take our designer X amount of hours to design. Our developer will need X amount of time to build it. And our admin need to use X amount of our hours for project management. All our costs are outlined in our proposal and generally there are no big variations to costs.
We do not have a set number of revisions. We work with you our client until you are happy with the design. Normally you will need 1 and 3 revisions before we move forward too development.
In our proposal we set a timeline for design, development and production. The timeline give us an expectation and is dependent on delivery of assets such as images text or graphics. If Webserv cannot meet our expectations, we will communicate that prior to deadline. If client cannot meet their deadlines we expect to hear from you. We are here to manage the project and help you to get what we need to complete the job.
Performance and Results
We can only measure success if we set some goals many times when we launch a website. We can set up goals such as conversions, click through traffic and anything that is associated with digital footprints. Our strategy to have the best optimal loading time and performance starts with a good hosting platform in Australia. We then follow in our design and development by making sure all media assets are small and compressed to the right format which helps the browser to load pages fast. On top of this we use caching for many of the pages which gives the server a boost in performance.
